Scott Boyer
Board Member – Founder and President
Scott has almost three decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has led the sales and marketing efforts for numerous branded drugs for Abbott and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Scott has a passion for creating a pharmaceutical model that provides medications to all patients. His education includes a B.S. in Business Administration and Management from Morningside College.
Bruce Duncan
Board Member – Co-Founder
Bruce has more than thirty years of experience at the C-level in accounting and tax management, including a decade at a Big 4 accounting firm and a decade managing the tax department of a Fortune 100 company. Bruce was also the Sr. Vice President of Finance at a capital management firm that grew to more than $50 billion during his tenure. As a co-founder of OWP, he was the CFO through 2023. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has a law degree from Case Western.
Melissa Chadwick-Dunn
Board Member
Melissa brings over 30 years of capital markets experience, including 25 years as a global healthcare investor. In addition to financial acumen, she has expertise in navigating the healthcare ecosystem and corporate governance. Currently, Melissa is a Portfolio Manager at RS Investments (an Affiliate of Victory Capital) and manages over $5 billion of growth equity mutual funds. Previously, she was an investment banker and mergers & acquisitions advisor. Melissa also serves as an Executive Board Member and Treasurer of The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation and is an advisor to the Institute for Global Orthopaedics & Traumatology (IGOT). Melissa holds a B.A. in economics and an M.A. in international relations from the University of Chicago and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Kurt Florian
Board Member
Kurt is the COO and General Counsel of Loan Ecosystem LLC, which provides an efficient and economical platform for the loan syndication process. Kurt has extensive experience in corporate finance and previously was the COO, Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer for Vanderbilt Capital Advisors, LLC. Kurt was previously a partner at Lord, Bissell & Brook and Katten Muchin Rosenman law firms. Kurt comes to the OWP board with a passion for epilepsy patients, having served as the President and Chairman of the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago. He has a BA from the University of Chicago and a JD from Duke University School of Law.
Dr. Troy Hammond
Board Member – Chair
Troy brings 30 years of strategic, technical and high-growth executive leadership experience to OWP’s Board. Troy is currently the CEO of Convergence Energy, a leading Solar and Battery Storage project developer. He also built Plextronics — a material science startup that commercialized novel formulations of liquid suspensions, protected by a robust patent portfolio. Previously, he was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Co. and President at BlueStar Energy and North Central College. Troy has a PhD in Physics from MIT and degrees from Milligan University and Georgia Tech.
Matt Litfin, CFA, MBA
Board Member
Matthew currently is Executive Vice President, Investments and Development, at Fellowes Inc, a privately held provider of workplace solutions. Prior to this role, Matt held various senior Portfolio Management, Director of Research, and Equity Research Analyst roles at William Blair & Co. LLC, Columbia Threadneedle Asset Management, and Nuveen. In addition, Matt is a Founding Investor of WinForest Partners, a private equity Fund of Funds group. Previously Matt has also served as an adjunct professor, teaching undergraduate business strategy and valuation classes at Wheaton College (IL). Matt graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (summa cum laude). He holds a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School. He is also a board member of ROW Global Health, a public charity bringing epilepsy treatment to under-resourced areas of the world. Matt and his family reside in Wheaton, IL.
Shawn Williams
Board Member
Shawn is a materials technologist with 30 years of commercial experience. He currently serves as Battery Thesis Leader at Re:Build Manufacturing, where he coordinates efforts to re-establish U.S.-based manufacturing of battery and advanced materials technologies. His prior roles include CTO & Deputy General Manager at A123 Systems, CTO at Northeastern’s Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security, and VP of R&D at Rogers Corporation. Shawn earned his PhD in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon and his BS in Chemistry from Geneva College.
